Yu Zaiqing, Vice President of IOC and the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee visited Genting together with the “Cheers for the Olympics” painting art group to kick off the “My Paintings of Winter Olympics” event

 On December 26, a delegation visited Genting Secret Garden in Zhangjiakou to create fine art works based on the local scenery. The delegation included: Yu Zaiqing, Vice President of IOC and the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee; He Jialin, Head of the “Cheers for the Olympics” painting art group, Director of the Creation Research Department of China National Academy of Painting, and Vice Chairman of China Literary and Art Volunteers’ Association, professor and doctoral tutor; Lin Rongsheng, researcher, professor and doctoral tutor of China National Academy of Painting; Wang Ping, Director of the Information Center of China National Academy of Painting, Editor in Chief of Art News of China and researcher; and over 20 other painters. They were accompanied by: Hui Jian, Secretary of Zhangjiakou Municipal Party Committee; Wu Weidong, Mayor of Zhangjiakou City, Director of Zhangjiakou Operation Center of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, and Winter Olympics Office of Zhangjiakou City; Zhang Chunsheng, Standing Committee Member of Zhangjiakou Municipal Party Committee, Secretary General of Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the Municipal Party Committee; Wu Xiangyang, Standing Committee Member of Zhangjiakou Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor of Zhangjiakou Municipal Government; Yang Qianhe, Secretary General of Zhangjiakou Municipal Government; Zhang Zhixue, Vice Secretary General of Zhangjiakou Municipal Government and Director of Zhangjiakou City Foreign Affairs Office; Zhao Zan, Vice Secretary of Chongli District Party Committee and Director of Chongli District Government; Zhao Wei, Director of the Cultural Activities Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee; Li Li, Vice Director of Zhangjiakou Operation Center; Wang Bo, Vice Director of Zhangjiakou Operation Center; and Wang Yuqing, Vice Director of Planning, Publicity and Culture Department of Zhangjiakou Operation Center.

For the purposes of promoting the Olympic spirit and embracing the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, IOC officially authorized and established the “Cheers for the Olympics” Olympic Art Fair City Series Exhibition. The event is one of the Winter Olympics theme activities that has been approved by the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee. The painting art group will create fine art works based of the scenery at Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou.
