Cai Xuetong Wins Championship for Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup (Genting Leg)

On December 21, 2018, the FIS Freestyle & Snowboard World Cup 2018-2019 Presented by CITIC GUOAN·came to a successful end at Genting Secret Garden. In the women's halfpipe competition, Chinese player Cai Xuetong continued her advantage in the final and, against the wind and other unfavorable factors, she won the first place with 88.75 points. Her Swiss counterpart Rohrer Verena and Japanese player Imai Kurumi won respectively the runner-up with 85.25 points and third place with 82.25 points. Another Chinese player Qiu Leng, a young athlete who also rivaled in the finals, took the sixth place.

In the men's halfpipe match, Swiss player Scherrer Jan, Japanese players Hirana Ruka and Totsuka Yuto ranked the top three. Chinese athlete Zhang Yiwei won the 5th place after repeatedly challenging difficult techniques, but he failed to generate expected results.

The China Genting Leg competitions of FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup 2018-2019 also successfully concluded on the same day, with Japanese team winning both the men's and women's championships. It was the first time for the FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup to be held in China. For this event, Genting Secret Garden, jointly with an international team of experts, built a Great Wall Theme Park that shows Chinese characteristics and received praise of athletes from all over the world.

In the women's competition, championship went to Onitsuka Miyabi with 86.20 points, the runner-up was won by another Japanese player Iwabuchi Reira with 85.21 points, and the third place was taken by French player Lefevre Lucile with 70.56 points. Chinese players Li Dongyu and Wang Xuemei won the fifth and sixth.
