On December 20, 2018, the FIS Freestyle & Snowboard World Cup 2018-2019 Presented by CITIC GUOAN·was successfully staged at the ski field of Genting Secret Garden in Chongli. In today’s World Cup finals for freestyle halfpipe competition, Chinese athlete Zhang Kexin showed her normal performance and successfully defended her championship won in the World Cup for the same sport last year, which was also held at Genting Secret Garden. Zhang’s Canadian counterpart Karker Rachael won the runner-up. The second runner-up was taken by another Chinese player, Li Fanghui. It was the first time for 15-years-old Li to receive a medal on the international sports podium.

A total of six athletes entered and competed fiercely in the finals of this Freestyle Halfpipe World Cup for women. Chinese athletes Li Fanghui and Zhang Kexin had previously won the second and third places respectively in the preliminaries and received qualification for the final round. In the end, Zhang Kexin and Li Fanghui won the championship and third place with 87.75 and 83.75 points respectively. Their Canadian rival Karker Rachael won the runner-up with 85.75 points.

In the men's finals of the Freestyle Halfpipe World Cup, a total of 10 athletes competed together. Chinese athlete Mao Bingqiang continued his eighth rank in the preliminaries through to the finals, which was the best result among Chinese male athletes in the international Grade-A event. Canadian athlete Dartois Simon won the championship with 93.50 points. New Zealand athlete Porteous Nico and US athlete Hess Hunter won the runner-up and third place with 89.50 and 85.50 points respectively.

Besides the concluded Freestyle Halfpipe World Cup, Genting Secret Garden also went on holding the Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup and the Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup. In the Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup held on December 19, Chinese players Cai Xuetong and Qiu Leng respectively won the first and sixth places in the preliminaries, and Zhang Yiwei won the fifth place in the men’s preliminaries. They will try their best to take medals in the finals on December 21. In the Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup preliminaries of today, Chinese female players Li Dongyu and Wang Xuemei entered the finals over a slight advantage, but the men's athletes lost the qualification for the finals.

Champion Zhang Kexin: (The halfpipe of Genting Ski Park) is quite comfortable venue. It enabled me to ski very smoothly and particularly fast. I can feel that the track condition becomes better every year!
