The peak season at Yunding is about to begin. From November 24 to 30, the "The 2025/26 FIS Freeski & Snowboard Big Air World Cup " will kick off as the first international Category A event of the inaugural season. This competition is a critical battle for athletes aiming to earn season points and secure their spots in the Winter Olympics! 

01 Snowmaking Begins – Course Preparation Underway

The Yunding Big Air, designed by the Architectural Design & Research Institute of Tsinghua University, matches the specifications of the Shougang Big Air and is an internationally certified standard venue. With the event approaching, snowmaking has officially commenced, track preparation is in full swing, and shaping work will follow. As a professional Winter Olympics venue, Yunding Snow Park boasts mature snowmaking and course preparation capabilities.

02 Star Athletes

As the first international Category A event of the inaugural season, this competition is a crucial opportunity for athletes to earn points and contend for Winter Olympic qualifications. A total of 184 athletes from 30 countries and regions are expected to compete for quotas to the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic Winter Games.

Su Yiming, the gold medalist in Snowboard Big Air and silver medalist in Snowboard Slopestyle at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, will join the competition. As a rising star born after 00s, Su is a legendary figure in Chinese snowboarding. His relentless pursuit of excellence and unwavering dedication have not only earned him international acclaim but also inspired the growth of snow sports in China, making him a shining role model for the younger generation.

Yang Wenlong, the champion of the 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025 and the FIS World Cup in Kreischberg, Austria, is hailed as the new hope of Chinese snowboarding. In 2021, he successfully executed the ultra-difficult backside 1980 and earned his first World Cup gold medal at the Austria event with this trick. In this competition, he will join forces with Su Yiming to strive for glory for their country.

The event promises to be thrilling, with top-tier athletes gathering at Yunding Snow Park to deliver a spectacular snow sports extravaganza. Emerging Chinese athletes such as Liu Mengting, Yang Ruyi, Zhang Xiaonan, Xiong Shirui, Ge Chunyu, Huang Congsen, Xiong Wenhui, Han Linshan, and Xiao Siyu (listed in no particular order) will also seize this opportunity to shine, push their limits, and fulfill their dreams of soaring on snow.

03 Full Schedule

The Big Air World Cup will span seven days, from November 24 to 30, at Yunding Snow Park. Over these seven days, athletes will engage in intense competition across various segments, including official training, qualifiers, and finals.
